The Eagle is a rare breed in this day of consolidation & music intensive radio stations. Eagle 96.7 is a local, hometown radio station built around our communities, for our communities.
Eagle 96.7 is different. As the other Newberry radio stations have packed up and moved to Sault Ste Marie, we purchased an FM License from the FCC to come to Newberry and serve the surrounding area as well. Our coverage & service area also includes Curtis, Germfask, Seney, Grand Marais, Deer Park, Paradise, Eckerman, Strongs, Trout Lake, Cut River, Naubinway, Engadine and all areas in between. After extensive research, our residents told us loud & clear what they want from their local radio station.
At a community radio station, the information is king! Music comes second & with the music, they want variety. People want to be able to listen for information while enjoying music that does not offend them or drive them crazy by repeating the same songs over & over again. In fact, in answer to our listener’s requests, we built the “We Play Everything” format & we do play everything!
We have well over 5,000 titles in our library and are adding songs daily.
